Methana

The volcanic peninsula of Methana is attached to Peloponnese. It is well known for its famous volcano and its thermal springs.
The last volcanic erruption occured in 230 bc, famous historians and poets reported the last volcanic erruption such as Pausanias, Ovidios and Stravon. The peninsula belongs to the volcanic arc of Aegean islands which are Methana, Milos, Santorini, Nisiros and Kos.

 On the peninsula there are many ruins of prehistoric, ancient, classical, hellenistic, roman, byzantine and neoclassical years.
